Instructional design

I have over twelve years of experience as an instructional designer using content authoring tools like Articulate 360 and Evolve, video authoring applications like Camtasia and Vyond, and the Adobe Creative Suite to create engaging online learning experiences. One of my particular areas of expertise is designing learning solutions that successfully teach highly technical or complex topics to nontechnical audiences. When it comes to instructional design methodologies, I lean heavily on ADDIE and SAM.

I have extensive experience designing and delivering in-person and virtual instructor-led training for diverse audiences across multiple industries including software engineering, online advertising, and pharmaceutical drug manufacturing.

Although I am an individual contributor in my current role, I held L&D leadership positions from March 2016 until January 2023. My most recent leadership role was Sr. Director, Learning & Development at Apprentice.io, from Nov. 2020 to Jan. 2023, where, in addition to developing and delivering customer education and employee training programs for Fortune 100 pharma and biotech companies using Apprentice’s SaaS-based software platform, I built a first-class team of instructional designers, technical writers and product trainers. Adult Learning Theory

Adult learning theory

I am deeply knowledgeable in adult learning theory and consistently apply andragogical principles to develop effective learning solutions, regardless of the complexity of the subject matter. Some of the learning models I use most frequently include Knowle’s six principles of adult learning, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Gagne’s nine levels of learning, and the Kirkpatrick model of evaluation.

Learning needs assessment and analysis

Completing a learning needs assessment and analysis is the key to designing an effective training solution that successfully meets its learning objectives. I have designed both informal and formal needs assessments in multiple modalities, including interviews, focus group discussions, and online surveys. In my current role as Learning Specialist Consultant assigned to the Performance Studio of Google's Sales Mastery team, one of my remits is to analyze the results of an AI learning needs assessment completed by 300+ sellers from Google’s Go To Market (GTM) teams and provide recommendations for new eLearning content to address AI product knowledge gaps.

I have designed multiple onboarding, orientation, bootcamp, and training programs for newly hired employees and managers, including bespoke onboarding programs for specific audiences such as software engineers, and programmatic media buying planners and specialists. â€‹
